A. Downtown Babies offers A NEW Unique WORLD of EDUCATIONAL Play & Music Classes, PARENTING Forums, and Exciting SOCIAL EVENTS & PARTIES for Infants and Children up to 5 years.

About the Founder

Maria Smith, B.S., M.A, Certified kids Yoga Teacher

Maria J. Smith, has an extensive background in family, parent and child development research and, is experienced in teaching children skills that enhance their emotional, social and cognitive development.

Maria is an experienced applied social and market researcher who has conducted research based studies and devised educational programs for a myriad of corporations, museums, schools and non-for-profit organizations around the globe.

Inspired by a magical time, the birth of her daughter and, the desire to share her creative talents with other families, Downtown Babies is dedicated to families in New York City.

Maria holds two graduate UK degrees in Social & Market Research from the University of North London and the University of Westminster. She earned her M.A. with Merit, and has been conducting educational, social & market research for over 12 years. Additionally, Maria is a certified children's yoga teacher, a professional singer and, has been practicing yoga for 16 years. Maria holds the American Red Cross CPR & First Aid certificate.
Using her global experience, Maria recently created an outstanding program called Global Adventures. Children and Adults explore a magical journey around the world through play and music. A wonderful experience for both the child and adult!
